The singer hinted way back in 2009 when the smash hit was released that she may be confused about her own sexuality. She explained: “There is something quite interesting about the song. If you listen to the lyrics in the chorus, I say, 'He's got me like nobody,' and then I say, 'She's got me like nobody.' It's got a bit of an undertone of confusion about love and sex.” Though having only publicly dated men, the pop megastar – who is currently in a relationship with CEO Michael Polansky - still identities as bisexual.

Shawn Mendes
While Shawn Mendes may never have really questioned his own sexuality, his fan base sure did. The ‘Stiches’ hitmaker – who is currently in a relationship with fellow pop star Camila Cabello – found it “frustrating” when so many fans grilled him over his preferences because they had decided he was a feminine guy. He said: “Everyone’s been calling me gay since I was 15 years old. I'm not gay and I'm like, 'What does that mean?' I had these problems with the way my voice sounded. I'm like, 'How do I sit?' I'm always first to cross my legs and sit with a position of this feminine style and I really suffered with that." He then went on to speak up for guys his age who may be struggling with their sexuality, stating: “I think a lot of guys go through that and even worse than that there are just so many guys who are gay and in the closet and must be hearing stuff like that and just being like, 'I'm terrified to come out.'"
