Will the Queen Ever Live at Buckingham Palace Again?

Will the Queen Ever Live at Buckingham Palace Again? It took her almost 70 years to escape the big house, and, as the events of this weekend appear to confirm, Queen Elizabeth has no intention of ever returning to her “official home” of Buckingham Palace. Despite the clear advantages that living in London would bestow on an elderly head of state—including minute-long drives to state events, hospitals and medics—it has been an unacknowledged fact that the queen has effectively moved full-time to Windsor Castle since Easter 2019.

Prince Charles could get rid of Prince William and Kate Middleton's intended royal household when he becomes King, reports the Express.

The reports come in light of claims the whole of Kensington Palace could decommissioned once Prince Charles takes the throne.

Such claims have been sparked by the fact the 21-room 'apartment one' in the London palace remains empty, despite having undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation.

The unoccupied apartment has led to suspicions there is a lack of interest in the building. The speculation has been further fuelled by claims the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have long-term plans to move to Windsor.

Historian Christopher Warwick told Express reporters, "Whispers that Kensington Palace's days as an official residence are numbered are a pointer to how many changes we are going to see when Charles becomes King."
