Musical couples who broke up after their duets
Although onstage chemistry would have us believe that singers who duet together, particularly when it comes to romantic duets, have feelings for each other in real life, more often than not this is not the case. But it does sometimes happen. In fact, there are plenty of examples of real-life couples who have collaborated on their music and recorded duets. In some cases, those couples are still together and they can look back fondly on their successful work together. In other cases, however, the relationship has come to an end and the duet is all that remains. Intrigued? Check out this gallery to see which couples dueted and ducked.
'Sex and the City' character Samantha Jones has been moved to London for the show's reboot. © Bang Showbiz Kim Cattrall's Sex and the City character will be moved to London for the show's reboot
Kim Cattrall, 65, who plays the character, ruled out reprising her role for the HBO reboot, ‘And Just Like That...’, and to get around that the PR maverick is said to have ventured across the pond and is now a resident in England after falling out with Carrie Bradshaw, who is played by actress Sarah Jessica Parker, 56.
A source told Mail Online: “We couldn't have Samantha roaming around New York City and not have the other women (Charlotte and Miranda) not interacting with her. It just wouldn't have made sense.”
These are the most underrated movies
Not all movies get the recognition they deserve at first glance. For every instant classic, there’s a hidden gem that takes audiences and critics years to discover. We thought we’d save you the time by putting together a list of some of the most underrated, underappreciated, and outright overlooked movies of all time.
This comes after it was reported Samantha’s absence would be explained by a rift between the group.
It is thought that producers ruled out sending her back to LA - as this was already done in the first of the two spin-off movies - and so they opted to send her to a place less famed for its sunshine, but somewhere Samantha will still be “thriving".
The source continued: “Sending her to Los Angeles wasn't an option as we'd done that in the first movie, so having her character based in London really was the perfect way to keep her alive and explain her absence ... viewers will learn that she is thriving in England even though she has fallen out with Carrie.”
In the new show, which debuts in December, it's said that Carrie will attempt to retrieve her estranged pal back from across the Atlantic as she - out the remaining trio of Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon, 55), and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis, 56) - is having a “tough time” without Sam.

Happy birthday, Scarlett
A career to Marvel at! Scarlett Johansson has enjoyed an incredible journey on screen. From her days as a precocious child who was determined to become an actress, to actually cracking Hollywood before the age of 20. Take a look back on the career and life of the Academy Award winner as she turns 37. She sure has packed a lot in for a lady who is yet to hit 40!
She was inspired by Judy Garland
Born in New York City in 1984 from an early age Scarlett seemed determined to be in the spotlight. After spending her very early years putting on tap shows and doing jazz hands for her family, and practiced crying on demand by staring into the mirror for hours on end. She idolised Judy Garland in the classic 1940s film ‘Meet Me in St Louis’ and at age seven was left devastated when her brother was signed to a talent agent over her. But she didn’t let sibling rivalry stop her and enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and by age nine had made her off-Broadway debut. She was on her way!
Her career was almost scuppered... by her voice!
Before Scarlett made her name on the big screen, she had – like many child actors – tried her luck in commercial castings. However, even precocious Scarlett soon got bored, claiming “I didn’t want to sell Wonder Bread”. Years later, she would reflect on her beginnings and claimed that her deep voice almost scuppered her chances of success. She said: “I was always terrible at commercials because my voice was so deep. That was at the age of nine. I wasn't going to sell Jell-O with that voice!"
A critic predicted success after her role in Manny and Lo
Scarlett’s career had got off to a soaring start and by the age of 12 the promising starlet had starred alongside Bond legend Sean Connery in ‘Just Cause’ and John Ritter in the fantasy comedy ‘North'. Her first lead came in the form of ‘Manny & Lo’, a drama where she played Amanda, sister of a pregnant teen who runs away for her performance. A critic predicted her future success, as long as she kept on the straight and narrow in those ever-challenging teenage years, with Mark LaSelle noting: “If she can get through puberty with that aura undisturbed, she could become an important actress.”
Body positivity advocate
In the world of Hollywood, far too many stars embrace the airbrushed look which we see on social media which is unattainable. Not Scarlett, though. She is not shy about her body and always embraces a natural look and doesn't worry her weight too much. She said: “There's a weight I like to maintain, which is slim but healthy, but there's a healthy way to keep to that weight and there's an unhealthy way. I don't have any comment on how other people choose to live their lives - but for me, I'm far too paranoid about my own health to take the road of eating disorders. I'd rather just stay in shape the natural way."
She was almost Maria von Trapp
When Scarlett was approaching her 20s she was lighting up the big screen and was all set to make the transition to stage, with musical impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber keen to cast her as Maria von Trapp – the role made famous by Julie Andrews – in his 2006 production of ‘The Sound of Music'. Scarlett wanted the role, but her agent disagreed on the idea, with Andrew Lloyd Webber stating: “It was all agreed - I wanted a girl show as the real age of Maria. Scarlett wanted to do it but wisely her agent said no, that she could not be in the London Palladium for nine months as she had a huge movie career.” It was this that led Webber to find his Maria via the TV talent search ‘How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?’, a format which later had an American version on NBC and spawned other shows which cast leads in shows such as ‘Grease’, ‘Oliver!’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz'.
She inspired a girl... and she liked it!
Everyone remembers the smash hit Katy Perry song ‘I Kissed a Girl’. It propelled Katy to pop stardom way back in 2008 but what you may not know is that the chart topper was inspired by Scarlett Johansson. Katy spilled: "'I Kissed a Girl' was inspired when I opened up a magazine and I saw a picture of Scarlett Johansson. I was with my boyfriend at the time, and I said to him, ‘I’m not going to lie: If Scarlett Johansson walked into the room and wanted to make out with me, I would make out with her. I hope you’re OK with that.” When Scarlett found out, she seemed thrilled, and joked: “I had no idea. I should get a cut!”
She has a crush on Obama
Scarlett has been fairly open about her celebrity crushes over the years and once cited that she had a thing for former ‘Baywatch’ star David Hasslehoff, who she co-starred with in ‘The Spongebob SquarePants Movie’, the feature-length spin-off of the hit nautical cartoon. At the time she said: “I fancied him when I was young … He was a hunk back in those days." In the years that followed, she would go on to admit her crush on former US President Barack Obama, once joking: “I am engaged to Barack Obama. My heart belongs to Barack!"
No social media for Scarlett!
These days, it is commonplace for anyone with a significant fandom – let alone one as large as Scarlett’s due to her Black Widow role in the MCU – to live on social media. As one of the world’s best known and best loved actresses, Scarlett would surely gain millions and millions of followers online, but Oscar winner has been determined to stay away from Instagram and Twitter. She explained: “I don't have a Facebook or a Twitter account. I can’t think of anything I’d rather do less than have to continuously share details of my everyday life.”
The source claimed: “Carrie is the one who has the tough time without Samantha and by the end of 'And Just Like That' you'll see Carrie extend the olive branch and try and rekindle the friendship.”

Away from the screen, Kim - who was born in Liverpool, north West England - has been locked in a feud with Sarah Jessica for some time.
In 2017, Kim said she has “never been friends” with her co-star, before later insisting the actress “could have been nicer” on the set of the popular TV show.
She said at the time: “We’ve never been friends. We’ve been colleagues and, in some ways, it’s a very healthy place to be.”
The ‘Filthy Rich’ star then said she didn’t know what Sarah Jessica’s “problem” was, before later slamming her as “toxic” and “cruel”.
But in 2018, Sarah insisted there was "no catfight" between her and Kim.
She said: "I’d just like to remind everybody that there is no catfight.
"I have never uttered an unkind, unsupportive, unfriendly word, so I would love to redefine it.
"I also want to remind everybody that there were four women on the set and I spent equal time with all of them, so this was not a set with two women who didn’t get along.
"I’ve always held Kim’s work in high regard and always appreciative of her contributions."
