Kajak Olympic champion Ricarda Funk brought gold at the home world championship in Augsburg. The defending champion countered the time of the Australian exceptional athlete Jessica Fox with a furious final sprint in the lower part of the ice channel and won with 1.31 seconds.

«In the end I was only in the tunnel, I didn't notice anything. It was mega horn, an incredible mood. There is nothing better than winning at home here in front of family and friends, »Funk told Bavarian television.
