Forty-eight years later to the day, America is on the cusp of a new and potentially more terrifying constitutional crisis: one actively incited by Donald Trump and his allies in the Republican Party. It’s little surprise that the former president responded to yesterday’s unprecedented FBI search of his home by accusing the Department of Justice of “lawlessness,” engaging in a “political persecution,” and weaponizing the justice system against him.

Operation Cross Country has located more than 200 victims in various locations throughout the United States with the cooperation of other federal, state and local agencies.
Up to 145 adult victims have been located in this special operation, bringing the total number of victims so far this year to 391, according to the U.S. newspaper 'The Hill'.
In one of the most effective actions, agents have located 19 missing children and arrested seven suspects in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Democrat senators and members of Congress tout the party's accomplishments, while the GOP rages over the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump's Palm Beach home.Trump's Florida residence was raided Monday after a warrant was obtained by the FBI, purportedly to search for confidential government documents the former president is accused of holding onto after leaving office.
"What we do is sit down with local authorities and identify certain areas where we know there is more sex trafficking and dedicate resources and means to identify and remove victims from those areas," explained FBI spokesman Jose Perez.
Nearly 200 agencies from all three administrative levels have collaborated with the FBI in gathering information, collecting evidence and assisting victims.
In addition, the operation remains open and plans to investigate sex offenders who may be charged at the federal level and other suspects who may engage in sexual abuse using the Internet.
