Weather France placed the department of Savoie on Orange Alert to Avalanches, this Thursday, April 7 at noon, because of a disturbance arriving on the Alps.

The Department of Savoie has been placed in orange vigilance by Weather France due to a strong risk of avalanches generated by large snowfall, according to the latest newsletter of the forecast organization published on Thursday 7 April midday.

"The avalancheous activity expected for this episode is observed on average one to twice by winter" , says Meteo France, stressing that this episode is "However a little late in the season" .
