Firefighters worked to douse a Calgary Transit bus while smoke and flame came from the engine.

The vehicle fire started sometime before 10 a.m. on Saturday near 17 Avenue and 45 Street in the southwest. Calgary Fire Department Battalion Chief Al Magwood said the fire started in the bus’ engine compartment.

Nita Bennett, spokesperson for Alberta Health Services, said EMS did not respond to the incident and no injuries were reported.

A video of the incident posted on Facebook showed smoke and flame coming from the rear of the bus. Magwood said firefighters were able to get the fire under control and put out the blaze.

Crews continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
