The New Year has just begun, that a new biopic project is already in the cartons. Chris Evans would be about to incarnate Gene Kelly , actor, singer, American dancer, star of various musicals in the 1950s, reveals Deadline this Tuesday, January 4th. Gene Kelly has been the star of several Hollywood classics such as sing in the rain (1952), an American in Paris (1951), one day in New York (1949) and many more. Deceased in 1996 at the age of 83, he left behind an impressive legacy of films, contributing to the renewal of Hollywood musical.
This film, which has for the moment no title, should be produced by the interpreter of Captain America , who had the idea of making this feature film, with the triple named at the Oscars John Logan (Skyfall, the latest samurai), who will write the scenario. The pitch? "A 12-year-old boy who works in the production company Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios in 1952, begins to create an imaginary friendship with the legendary Gene Kelly movie star while he works on his next film." This new role, which will involve songs and dance numbers, could be a real stepping stone for Chris Evans. At this stage of his career, he tries to emancipate his superhero character in the MCU, which he embodied between 2011 and 2019. 2022 will be a busy year for the comedian who will be on three Movies including the Thriller of Action The Gray Man alongside Ryan Gosling and will lend his voice to buzz the lightning in the film Pixar which is dedicated to him, scheduled next June.
