June 18, 2018 — Hockey Canada Foundation Gala & Golf event begins in London. June 19, 2018 — A woman's stepfather informs Hockey Canada she alleges she was sexually assaulted by eight players, including members of the world junior team, while intoxicated the previous night following the event. Hockey Canada says it spoke with its insurance provider and then informed London police, which opened an investigation.

A woman is dead following an assault in the city’s east end on Thursday morning.

Toronto Police were called at 5:29 a.m. to a residence in the area of Victoria Park Ave. and Donside Dr. to find a woman in her 40s with life-threatening injuries.

The woman later died in hospital.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the residence.

The TPS homicide unit has taken over the investigation.

Police have no further information to release at this time.

“It is so early in the investigation,” said Const. Laura Brabant.
