Marks and Spencer shared a snap of a Nobody's Child dress available in store but shoppers were shocked by the outfit, branding it "awful" and asking if the post was an early April Fools.
M&S posted a photo on their Instagram of a model who had styled the long black dress featuring a shooting star pattern with a lace collar.
Their caption read: "The star of the show (star emoji) We’re falling head over heels for this star-print Nobody’s Child dress. #MyMarks."
Shoppers were shocked by the outfit, with some asking if M&S was "having a laugh".
One shopper joked: "Note to self: check calendar that it isn't April 1st ..."

Other shoppers thought the outfit was dated.
"Wouldn’t put my granny in this!!" said another.
However, not everyone was unimpressed.
Some shoppers liked the dress, just weren't a fan of the lace collar.
One such shopper said: "I like the dress ...but my goodness that collar is like my nans doilies what on earth ??"
The Nobody's Child Star Print Round Neck Midi Waisted Dress is being sold at M&S for £45. The lace collar is not part of the dress.
