The star admitted he thought he 'wouldn’t be here for Christmas ' as he returned to TV for the first time since he was diagnosed with cancer in December. The 65-year-old chef, who announced he was battling cancer earlier this year, revealed he had lost the use of his legs as well as his trademark beard during treatment as he paid tribute to the hospital workers in Birmingham who had helped him to walk again.

Posing with his dog Teddy in front of a Christmas tree, Dave's hair and beard could be seen growing back. He wrote alongside the snap: "Merry Christmas everybody from Teddy and I. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas surrounded by loved ones! Love Dave."
Fans rushed to wish Dave good health in 2023 as they commented on how well he looked. Sparky1977 said: "Merry Christmas! Here’s to a fabulous 2023! Great to see you looking so well!"

Saturday Kitchen viewers celebrated the return of Dave Myers after his cancer diagnosisMatt kicked off the show and excitedly introduced the duo's long-awaited return.
Dave spoke earlier this year about his intensive chemotherapy treatment as he admitted there have been times where he has 'curled up and cried'. But in a positive update he said the treatment was working.
"All the numbers are in the right direction, my hair’s growing back, my beard’s coming back, so it’s a long job. I’m still not out of the woods but generally feeling much better, and life will never be the same again.”
Dave will be returning to the TV with his co-star Si King in January as The Hairy Bikers Go Local kicks off. The series will feature eight episodes and starts on January 3 on BBC2 at 8pm.
