Wedding: Wayne Lineker says he would love Gary to attend his 60th birthday

Wayne Lineker admitted that he is desperate for his brother Gary to attend this 60th birthday party in Ibiza next week.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the Ocean beach club owner, revealed that he would love a 'surprise' visit from his sibling as 'life is too short.'

The pair have famously had a turbulent relationship, with Wayne previously blaming Gary's now ex-wife Danielle for their 2009 fall out.

It's understood that Wayne and Gary were previously at the heart of a family rift following the pundit's marriage to now ex-wife Danielle Bux in 2009.

Speaking to The Sun in 2016, Wayne said: 'In my opinion Danielle cost me my relationship with my brother.

'Sadly Gary is no longer a part of my life. Within a year we had spent less time talking than we ever had before.

He continued: 'It was like an itch I couldn’t scratch and I couldn’t understand why our contact had fizzled out.'
