Further than any e-car: The EQXX prototype creates the way from Sindelfingen to the coastal town of Cassis, a distance of more than 1000 kilometers, with only one battery charge. This is Mercedes pioneer - in front of Tesla.

An electric car of Mercedes-Benz is more than 1000 kilometers with a single battery charge. The fight against Tesla around the Technology Crown is held by the journey from Germany to the French Riviera to the next stage.

These celebrities were born in March!

These celebrities were born in March! Who knew March was the ultimate month for A-list birthdays?! From Reese Witherspoon to Bruce Willis, the next 31 days will be a busy time for celebrating some of the most famous faces in Hollywood. Here are 20 of them.

The EQXX prototype was driven by Sindelfingen at Stuttgart via Switzerland and Italy to the coastal town of Cassis on the Mediterranean, the car manufacturer announced on Thursday. The light chassis and the aerodynamic design of the sedan allowed the ride without reloading, although the battery of the vehicle is only the half as large as the flagship of Mercedes, the EQS.

The EQXX "is the most efficient Mercedes ever built," said board leader OLA Källenius in a message. "The technology program behind is a milestone in the development of electric vehicles."

Mercedes plans to invest up by 2026 about 60 billion euros to point to Tesla in the barriers and again more cars for sale than arch rivals BMW. Mercedes wants to sell only electric vehicles until the end of this decade and plans eight battery factories with partners.

Sponsored: Can Hamilton’s F1 records ever be beaten? Back in 2006, we witnessed a momentous sporting event, without even really realising it at the time. When Michael Schumacher climbed to the top step of the podium in Shanghai, he’d achieved the seemingly impossible.Except it didn’t. Schumacher retired at the end of that season – although he would return with Mercedes for three further (rather fruitless) campaigns – having laid down the gauntlet safe in the knowledge that few, if any, would ever match, let alone topple, his records.

Mercedes was late with the introduction of electric cars, but has now done well with the introduction of the EQS floor. This year, the fully electric sedan EQE and the SUV EQB continue.

Racing Technology

With the EQXX, Mercedes tries to show that it masters the technology better than Tesla. The prototype drove up to 140 km / h and the battery had more than 15% of its capacity upon arrival. The battery uses new ingredients; It was developed with the help of Formula 1 experts from AMG in the United Kingdom. The cells should be used in compact cars from 2024.

Mercedes developed the EQXX in almost three and a half years instead of just five years using simulations and digital design tools instead of physical tests.

"We have to keep up with the step of what's going on on the software and technology page, and that is a fast-changing industry," said Mercedes Defense Chief Markus Schäfer in an interview. "We have to be fast in our developments, much faster than in the past."
