After a year-long hiatus for the Edinburgh Festivals, the Capital’s range of annual cultural events are whirring back into life this summer.But for a month from today until August 29, locals and visitors to the city alike will be able to visit over 35 exhibitions and a range of stunning commissions in artistic spaces across the city – with those at home also able to view a number of events and exhibitions online.

Edinburgh will host Scarlets in their new stadium on the opening weekend of the new United Rugby Championship season while Glasgow Warriors face an away game at Ulster.
The capital club, who will play their home games at Edinburgh Rugby Stadium on the back pitches at Murrayfield, will meet the Welsh side on Saturday, September 25 (kick-off 5.15pm. Glasgow’s game in Belfast is on Friday, September 24 (7.35pm).
The fixtures have finally been released for the competition which replaces the Pro14 and matchday two sees the Warriors at home to Cell C Sharks on Saturday, October 2, while Edinburgh travel to Italy to take on Benetton on the same day.

Sharks are one of the four South African franchises joining the new league. Edinburgh and Glasgow will each play two matches in South Africa but not until next year.
Edinburgh will take on the Sharks away on the weekend of March 25-26-27 and the Emirates Lions on the weekend of April 1-2-3.
Glasgow make the long journey to take on DHL Stormers on April 22-23-24 and Vodacom Bulls on the weekend of April 29-30 and May 1
The Scottish pro sides will meet each other in two now traditional festive derbies, at Scotstoun on December 27 and in Edinburgh on January 2.
Premier Sports will show live coverage of Edinburgh and Glasgow but some games will also be broadcast free-to-air on BBC Wales, BBC Northern Ireland and Welsh language channel S4C which will have English commentary available on the red button.
The new 16-team cross-continent competition sees the introduction of South Africa’s top four sidesSouth Africa’s top four franchises - the Sharks, Stormers, Lions and Bulls - are now on board, forming a 16-team competition along with the 12 sides from Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Italy.
