QUEEN OF POP!
Madonna is set to reissue her entire back catalogue in a new partnership with Warner Music, so take a look back at the 10 highest-grossing albums from the Queen of Pop's legendary career.
Evita – OST (1996)
Madonna played the lead role in the musical film of the same name and had main performing credits on 15 of the 19 tracks for the soundtrack to Alan Parker's movie. The Queen of Pop needed to take voice training sessions for the album as it the tunes were vastly different to her vocal style, but the soundtrack was boosted by the film's premiere and Madonna's Golden Globe win for her performance as Eva Peron.
Greatest Hits – Vol 2 (2001)
The compilation album was released after the success of the previous year's record 'Music'. Madonna selected her favourite songs that she could replay five times in a row for the album, which became the 14th bestselling record of the year despite her being unavailable during the launch as she was filming the movie 'Swept Away'.
Something to Remember (1995)
This compilation album consisted of ballads and came as a surprise to fans as it had been suggested that Madonna's music career was in decline. The album sold 10 million copies globally and featured a cover of Marvin Gaye's 'I Want You' and two new unreleased singles.
Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005)
The album featured a mixture of energetic tunes followed by more heartfelt songs as it topped the charts in 40 countries, with critics hailing it as a return to form for the star. The Queen of Pop won a Grammy for the best electronic/dance album and became the biggest selling album of the year.
Like a Prayer (1989)
The record featured elements of dance, funk, gospel and soul but courted controversy as it touched on topics such as religion and sexuality. 'Like a Prayer' reached to top of the US Billboard top 100 and sold more than 15 million copies globally.
The album topped the charts in 23 countries across the world and became Madonna's most successful record in over a decade. It received a triple-platinum certification with 11 million copies sold across the globe and the promotional tour, 'The Drowned World Tour', was the highest-grossing for a solo act in 2001.
Ray of Light (1998)
Madonna teamed up with award-winning producer William Orbit for this record, although the recording process took longer than expected due to technical problems. The music icon explored electronica, trip-hop, techno hop and dance on the album and it went on to win four Grammy Awards from six nominations.
True Blue (1986)
Madonna's third studio album was recognised by Guinness World Records in 1989 as the bestselling female album. The tracks were dedicated to and inspired by her then husband Sean Penn and the collection topped the charts in 28 countries with an estimated 25 million copies sold worldwide.
The streaming success comes after Kanye released a brief statement accusing his record label of making his 10th studio album available without his approval, as well as blocking him from releasing 'Jail, Pt. 2', which features controversial rapper DaBaby and rocker Marilyn Manson, who has been accused of abuse by a number of women, including his ex-fiance Evan Rachel Wood.
Call it: Kanye West starts a procedure for changing name

I am ye , "is the mysterious message of the American artist published in 2018 on Twitter, at the time of promoting the album of the same name. If the rapper has been called for several years by the diminutive of his first name, the two letters could become his official name, in the eyes of the law.
In the typed-out message, Kanye told his 7.8 million Instagram followers: "UNIVERSAL PUT MY ALBUM OUT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON THE ALBUM."
Initially, all but one song was released, with 'Jail, Pt. 2' being added hours later on Sunday (29.08.21), with DaBaby spitting about the homophobic comments he made about HIV and AIDS at Rolling Loud Festival.
He raps: “I said one thing they ain’t like, threw me out like they ain’t care for me/ Threw me out like I’m garbage, huh?/ And that food that y’all took off my table/ You know that feed my daughters, huh? (Mmm)/ But I ain’t really mad, ’cause when I look at it/ I’m getting them snakes up out my grass."
Manson - who sparked outrage when he joined Kanye and DaBaby on stage at his recent Chicago listening party for the LP - appears on the hook.
Despite DaBaby appearing at the 'Stronger' hitmaker's listening party, the 'ROCKSTAR' hitmaker was replaced by Jay-Z on the track 'Jail'.
The album also includes the likes of The Weeknd, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, and a posthumous appearance from the late Pop Smoke.
