Lord Alan Sugar's first victim of the 2022 boardroom Harry Mahmood has claimed advisor Karren Brady defended him in a cut scene before he was let go from the BBC show.

Series 16 of The Apprentice commenced on Thursday (January 6), with the 35-year-old from the West Midlands criticised for "disrupting" his team during their maiden task.

Chatting to RadioTimes following his exit, the business candidate shared a slice of what audiences missed throughout the episode.

During the development of his team's cruise-line marketing campaign, Harry tabled many alternative ideas as he appeared unhappy with the direction the project manager was going down.

The booted businessman also shared that he has no regrets about how things panned out, going as far as to say he remains "good friends" with his show rivals.

"You can't dwell. I'm proud of the fact that God Almighty has blessed me the opportunity to work with the BBC, The Apprentice, Lord Sugar and I've been honoured to take part. It's a huge privilege and an honour to be part of a huge, huge programme," Harry reflected.

"Genuinely, hand on my heart, I am honoured to be in the process, even though it's been very short-lived. I will carry on doing what I can with [God's] blessings!"

We bet you can't guess what he was really thinking in the boardroom, though.

The Apprentice continues next Thursday (January 13) on BBC One.
