Is there a trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Man?

Yes, Sony dropped the first trailer just last month, December 2021, giving fans a glimpse of Miles' next adventure. Chilling out in his room enjoying listening to Post Malone again, Gwen makes a surprise visit. They are both visibly older when compared to the first film, so it is likely a similar amount of time passed in-universe as it has between releases.

After Gwen encourages Miles to come out with her, the trailer cuts to Spider-Man falling through a strange new world. In what looks to be an Indian-inspired megacity, he is confronted by Miguel.

What is the plot of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?

Spider-Man will be venturing through multiple universes, each said to be more unique than the last. It will inevitably lead to him encountering other Spider-Men, new and old. The film is very "ambitious" according to its directors, with it building on the highly-praised animation and art styles of the first movie.

Miller explained: "It is, as Phil said, a very ambitious sequel because we didn't want to just sort of do the same thing again. And so, the idea that we'd be going to different dimensions really opened up an opportunity artistically to have each world have its own art style, and to be able to push the folks at ImageWorks to develop a way to have each dimension feel like it was drawn by a different artist's hand." The pair added that it will make the first film "look quaint" by comparison. It hints at the scope of the movie as well, with the story spread across two instalments. It will likely be taking heavy inspiration from the comics, with the first being semi-inspired by stories such as 2015's Spider-Verse.

In 2020, Marvel dropped Spider-Verse: Spider-Zero, a comic book adventure which put the focus on Miles. He is flung through the multiverse where he encountered various versions of Spider-Man. Each encounter works as a small self-contained story, though there is a main narrative weaved through it. The first trailer for the sequel already seems to be echoing this comic book.
