Harry Potter actor Chris Rankin has revealed he has got engaged to his long-term partner Ness Beecroft after popping the question during a trip to Florida.

The actor, 38, who played Percy Weasley in the movie franchise, shared his news via a sweet post to his 55.4K Instagram followers on Thursday evening.

Gushing that Ness had 'upgraded to fiancée', the happy couple posed for a loved-up snap while showing off the sparkling ring.

Writing alongside the snap of him and his now-fiancée posing on a balcony, Chris wrote: 'Happy news! I asked @nessabeecroft if she fancied upgrading to fiancée, and she seemed ok with the idea.'

Since his stint on the J.K Rowling based franchise, Chris now works in television and Film production.

He has recently worked on the production side of fantasy-adventure programme Atlantis, period drama Downton Abbey and Sky's A Discovery of Witches.
