Concerns are set to be raised around Toyah Battersby as her trial grows ever closer on Coronation Street.

Toyah is still awaiting her trial over the recent death of husband Imran Habeeb, though she has continued to protest her innocence and says that the car crash was an accident.

Fans will also know that Toyah has been reconnecting with former flame Spider Nugent amid his recent return to the cobbles, and in new scenes on the soap Toyah invites herself along to one of the protests he's involved in.

However, Spider feels uneasy when a fellow protester called Griff introduces himself to Toyah, and later on after the protest he tries to warn her that Griff is a loose cannon who is out on bail, and it would be best if she steered clear of him.

Meanwhile, Leanne Battersby's fears grow and she accuses Spider of leading her stepsister astray, thinking Toyah may face disaster.

Upcoming scenes on the soap will also see Toyah have an unexpected romantic moment with Spider as they end up sleeping together.

"She's definitely grateful for the distraction he brings and the kindness," star Georgia Taylor said of the new scenes.
