While it may have not been the owner’s original vision, fans have compared a Grand Designs home to the Teletubbies’ iconic abode.

Dorran and his wife Vereuschka are the latest pair to completely transform a humble property in the hit Channel 4 show presented by Kevin McCloud.

The married couple decide to create a super modern house in Canterbury that is nestled under a hill, with the renovation work documented in Wednesday’s episode.

However, trouble strikes when builders refuse to work after the project site freezes over, leaving Dorran no choice but to take on the work himself.

‘Once you get offshore, there’s no one there to help you and if anything happens we have to deal with it ourselves,’ shipmaster Dorran explains.

London Underground: If TfL goes bankrupt, this is what we'll have left

London Underground: If TfL goes bankrupt, this is what we'll have left The TfL Board looks set to vote on a £3.6billion funding deal next week - here's what happens if it's rejected Since George Osborne removed TfL's £700million annual government grant in 2015, TfL's revenue model means 72 per cent of its income directly or indirectly comes from fares or charges people pay to use its services. When the first lockdown saw passenger numbers drop by 95 per cent, the revenue model broke and TfL had to go to the government to ask it for funding to keep it running.

‘I’m quite happy to take on a certain element of risk and deal with it myself.’

Later on in the project, the father-of three reveals he quits his job so he can concentrate his efforts on the new home.

The couple also decide not to enlist the help of contractors as they’d rather not take the risk of the build being ‘inaccurate or wrong.’
