Emmerdale actor Michael Wildman has reportedly quit the long-running ITV soap, after playing Al Chapman for three years.

Al first arrived in Emmerdale back in August 2019, but it seems his time in the village could almost be up.

After the news was originally reported by The Sun, Digital Spy reached out to a spokesperson for Emmerdale who declined to comment.

Wildman has reportedly bowed out of the soap to pursue other acting roles.

His character has been especially prominent on Emmerdale in recent weeks, as Al has been swept up in a steamy affair with his former enemy Chas Dingle.

With Cain and Al set to clash at gunpoint, this could mark Wildman's final scenes on the soap – although nothing official has been confirmed as of yet.

Teasing ahead to Cain and Al's showdown, Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain, revealed their fight will turn "messy".

Reflecting on his filming experience, Hordley said: "It was nice for the characters, and for Michael and I, to do a fight scene and get physical, which was fun to do."
