In next week's Emmerdale episodes, Cain learns of Chas's affair with Al and their showdown ends with a gunshot.

Elsewhere, Kim and Will team up and hold Alex hostage to protect their family, and Aaron says his goodbyes.

1. Cain discovers Chas's affair

Chas manages to keep her cool when Cain starts questioning her about why she's had a huge bust up with Aaron. But when her secret burner phone starts vibrating, he sees red.

Cain finds the phone and sees a string of messages from an unknown number, revealing an affair.

Cain calls the number and Al answers, assuming it's Chas. Realising who has been having an affair with Chas, Cain's expression darkens.

2. Cain sets a trap for Al

In a mixture of grief and anger, Cain sets a trap and Al arrives expecting to greet Chas, but instead meets a shotgun.

As Cain holds Al at gunpoint, sickened by the affair, Chas realises Cain has found her burner phone and fears the worst.

3. Someone is shot

Al manages to stay calm, arrogant in the face of Cain's threats until Cain admits the gun was for show.

Cain and Al fight it out, but when they both glance at the shotgun, it becomes a race over who can get to it first.

The shotgun blasts but it remains to be seen if they'll both make it out alive.

4. Dawn worries about the future

When Dawn and Billy realise the money from Harriet's will isn't enough to keep Woodbine cottage, they panic about the prospect of becoming homeless.

Just as Dawn and Billy come up with a plan to buy Woodbine, Alex returns and threatens to take Clemmie away unless they give him Harriet's money.

As Harriet's funeral arrives, Dawn's consumed with worry about Alex's threats, hoping they can keep the family together.

5. Will and Kim team up against Alex

Will and Kim prove they are the married dream team when together they manage to trick Alex and bundle him into the car boot.

Tying him up in the stables at Home Farm, Kim and Will negotiate a cheaper pay off with Alex and abandon him there, still tied up, to stew on his decision.

With Dawn and Billy unaware of their secret tactics to wear Alex down and make him scared for his life, Will tries to admit what they've done but is stopped by Kim. The pair try to keep Billy calm and Kim vows to keep their family safe.

6. Kim's impressed by Will

When Will returns to the stables where they're keeping Alex hostage, Kim is impressed to see his fury as he threatens Alex.

Will beats Alex to a pulp when he doesn't change his mind about the money and keeps to his demands.

Now, stronger than ever, Will and Kim stay united and leave Alex to suffer there alone all night.

7. Aaron says goodbye

Aaron readies himself for an emotional goodbye, getting ready to leave Emmerdale for good. He says his farewells to Paddy and Vinny, with the loss of Liv affecting them all.

But when it comes to Aaron and Chas, their relationship is damaged for good. She questions him on what he has revealed about her affair, but Aaron shuts her out, telling her he doesn't want anything to do with her ever again.

8. Kerry and Chloe hear a shot

Unaware of Cain and Al's big showdown, Kerry and Chloe are stunned when they hear a gunshot.

At Harriet's funeral, Amelia makes a heartfelt speech about her, which stirs up Dan's emotions.
