A Place in the Sun star Jonnie Irwin, who has claimed he was axed by the Channel 4 show after revealing he had just six months to live, has been plagued by thoughts of his wife Jessica Holmes remarrying after his death. The 48-year-old has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, which has now spread to his brain, and, amid the bad news, he simply cannot bear the thought of his wife moving on.
"Jess is not the sort to go on a dating app and in a perfect world I suppose she will meet a divorcé dad or someone who has lost their partner," he continued to The Sun.

The official A Place in the Sun account also responded to his Instagram message, writing: "We don't have the words, we just have love, affection and respect for our friend and colleague of so many years, the wonderful Jonnie Irwin. We're thinking of you, Jess and the boys x."
Meanwhile, A Place in the Sun's production company have since responded to Jonnie's claims that he was axed after revealing his cancer diagnosis.
"Jonnie has been a hugely important part of the A Place in The Sun family for over 18 years and all of us were deeply saddened by his diagnosis," their statement read.
" Much loved by everyone on the production, no stone was left unturned in trying to enable Jonnie to continue his international filming with us during Covid but the production company were unable to secure adequate insurance cover for him.
"Whilst we were unable to continue to film abroad with him, we're delighted that he was able to remain as part of our team in the UK for exhibitions. We of course understand how frustrating this must be for him at this incredibly difficult time."
