The Blades’ frontline missed a hatful of chances to rescue a point as Watford ground out the victory on their Championship return. Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, Sweetman-Kirk questioned whether any of the current crop can replace Sharp when he finally hangs up his boots.

“Even at 37, the work rate change when he (Sharp) comes on the pitch (is exceptional),” she said. “He is that star man everyone looks up to - that's why he is the captain.

“Everyone looks to him to bring that energy and the goal. For me, Jebbison is still very young (and) Brewster hasn't hit the ground running the way we would want him to.

“Before he (Brewster) had his hamstring injury, he was looking like the player we thought he would be. Then, obviously, (he had) another setback and lost a bit of confidence in that position.

“He looks like a forward rather than a striker in the sense that a striker just takes half a second just to think and then bends it rather than taking that early and scuffing it.
