Who is Joel Robles?
Joel Robles is a 32-year-old goalkeeper, best known for his time at Everton between 2013 and 2018. Robles came through Getafe's youth system, and has also played for Atletico Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Wigan, and most recently, Real Betis.
What has Joel Robles done so far?
Arguably Robles' finest achievement was being part of the Wigan Athletic team that won the FA Cup in 2013. His first appearance for the Latics was in a 1-0 win over Macclesfield Town in the fourth round, and his last showing was an outstanding performance in a historic victory at Wembley against Manchester City.

Leeds United news as Chris Sutton delivers damning Whites verdict as rising star shines
A round-up of the latest Leeds United newsBBC pundit Chris Sutton has tipped Leeds to be relegated alongside Fulham and AFC Bournemouth. The former Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers forward believes the loss of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, who he described as their ‘two best players’, will have a damning effect on the Whites.
Roberto Martinez led Wigan to that FA Cup triumph, and he left to join Everton that summer, and Robles was one of his first signings. He came in as second choice to Tim Howard, although he did enjoy spells as the number one. He made 65 appearances for the Toffees, keeping 25 clean sheets, and conceding an average of 1.2 goals per game.
Across spells at Atletico Madrid, Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis; Robles has 71 La Liga appearances under his belt, and is therefore vastly experienced when it comes to playing top flight football.
What have people said about Joel Robles?
Roberto Martinez was a big fan of Robles, hence why he signed him at two different clubs. Robles was singled out for praise from his boss after he saved a penalty from Charlie Daniels in Everton's 2-0 win at AFC Bournemouth in the FA Cup in February 2016.
He said: "Then the penalty arrives from a corner we didn't deal with. And I thought that's where we saw a very special performance from Joel Robles.
