The English football top club FC Arsenal celebrated the first sense of achievement at the start of the new Premier League season. In the London city derby, the Gunners won 2-0 (1-0) against Crystal Palace. The Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli (20th), Marc Guehi also made an own goal (85).
The team of Mikel Arteta dominated the game at the beginning and rewarded Martinelli's leadership from a short distance after a corner kick. In half two, Palace came into the game much better, but missed the deserved equalization before the decision was made shortly before the end.
