Conte's 'foolish' warning
Antonio Conte has said that Tottenham would have been foolish to not engage in transfer activity like they have this summer.
So far Spurs have made six summer signings and started the season with a standout 4-1 victory over Southampton. Conte didn't use any of those from the start though, and said: "You have seen the first game we played with the same players from last season but for sure we're better than last season.
Emerson Royal leaves Tottenham exit questions as Antonio Conte makes big call
Emerson Royal has split opinion since his arrival at Tottenham, but there may be even more questions raised now, after his performance against Southampton . It is very clear to see that Royal's strengths lie in his defensive ability, which would've been one reason to bring him to N17. However with Antonio Conte's arrival, the defender has needed to try and adapt to the wing-back role that is so important in the Italian's system and that is where he has struggled.
"We have a squad with a number of players, more reliable than last season. We improved the quality because you know when you play every three days you need to make rotations."
