Tottenham striker Harry Kane will probably want a release clause in any new contract he signs at Hotspur Way, says transfer insider Dean Jones.

With Bayern Munich seemingly interested in signing the England captain, the north London club may have to move quickly and offer their talisman a new deal. However, Jones thinks he would want a release clause to be included in it.

What is the latest news involving Kane?

Last month, Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann refused to rule out a move for Kane.

“He could score a lot in the Bundesliga,” the 35-year-old said (via Sky Sports). “I don’t know the price, but it’s really tough for Bayern Munich. We’ll see what happens in the future.”

Indeed, the connection between the two players was labelled “the best partnership in world football” by former Spurs striker Jermain Defoe.

Kane has just under two years remaining on his current Tottenham contract and was a target for Manchester City in the last summer transfer window.

With the 29-year-old set to enter the final 12 months of that deal next June, getting him out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2023 should not be impossible. City, though, are unlikely to be suitors following their acquisition of Erling Haaland.

What has Jones said about Kane’s Tottenham future?

If Spurs are to convince Kane to sign a new contract, Jones believes they will have to promise him the inclusion of a release clause.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “The big part of the negotiation will obviously be around a release clause. At the moment, Kane will see his expiring contract as the perfect way to draw a line under his Tottenham career if things aren’t going well at that point.

AC Milan switch transfer interest from Japhet Tanganga for another Tottenham defender

AC Milan switch transfer interest from Japhet Tanganga for another Tottenham defender The Serie A title holders had previously been linked with a move for one Spurs defender but have turned their attentions to anotherCalciomercato.it claim that the Serie A club have returned to Tottenham following a failed loan move for Tanganga for the former Ajax man who appears to be out of favour in North London. Football.London reported earlier in the summer that Sanchez would be allowed to leave the club should a suitable offer be submitted.

“So I think if he was to sign, he would probably look for a clause that kicks in around the same sort of time that was feasible for him to get out as well.”

Will Bayern sign Kane?

This summer, no chance. Having sold Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, the German giants could do with the arrival of a new No.9. And Kane, who has scored over 250 goals in his club career, would be a worthy successor to the Poland international.

However, with around two years still to run on his contract, Tottenham are not going to sell their best player, especially this late in the window. It would be almost impossible to replace him.

Next summer, with Kane entering the final 12 months of his current deal, it could be another story. But that is not something Antonio Conte will be worrying about now as he looks to guide Spurs to another top-four finish and some silverware this season.
