Given the transfer setbacks so far this summer, wasting time on Wesley Fofana will do Thomas Tuchel no favoursYou would be forgiven for not being too enthused by this latest chase, given the failures to secure any of Jules Kounde, Matthijs de Ligt or Nathan Ake, even if Kalidou Koulibaly has come through the door to much fanfare.

Chelsea 'considering' £70m Wesley Fofana bid as Leicester City stance clear
The latest Leicester City transfer news as Wesley Fofana remains a target for ChelseaThe Blues have been credited with an interest in Fofana over the last couple of weeks as they search for centre-back reinforcements ahead of the new season. Chelsea are now preparing a third, improved offer for the Frenchman, but will likely need to break the transfer record for a defender in order to convince Leicester to sell.
Recent reports have suggested that Fofana is growing increasingly unsettled and wants to be allowed to move to Stamford Bridge, with his representatives already verbally agreeing personal terms.
But Lineker has pleaded with the former Saint-Etienne defender to give Leicester one more year of his career and is convinced it will aid his development and lead to even more offers next summer.
‘Fear the worst but hope he finds it within himself to give Leicester City one more season,’ wrote Lineker on Twitter as he reacted to the rumours of Fofana’s growing unrest.

‘Signed a new long contract when badly injured. Another year and all the monster clubs will want you, Wesley.’
Following his side’s 4-2 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates at the weekend, Fofana made his way over to the away end by himself and saluted Leicester supporters – a gesture some interpreted as a farewell.
Manager Brendan Rodgers, however, rejected those suggestions, saying: ‘Well if that’s what you need to write then you write he’s saying farewell. So that’s your story so…’
Probed further on whether there is any update on Fofana’s potential move, Rodgers continued: ‘No, I think he was giving the fans a clap. I didn’t see a farewell clap. But you need to write what you need to write. That’s the story.’
Speaking last week, Rodgers said of his young defender: ‘We’re not looking to sell. Naturally, if there’s interest from other clubs, that is looked at by the club.
