Bucharest (Reuters) - The Romanian Liberals and Social Democrats have reached an agreement on the basis of the formation of a government Coalition with General Retreat Nicolae Ciuca as Prime Minister, to try to release the country with political blocking.
Romania, one of the poorest members of the European Union, has been in a political stalemate since the coalition government of former Liberal Prime Minister Florin Citu has been overthrown in October by a motion of censorship, threatening economic recovery and efforts to reduce budget and commercial deficits.

aged 54, Nicolae Ciuca currently provides the interim as Minister of Defense and should easily win the vote of confidence in Parliament, the coalition announced between the Liberal National Party Liberals (NLPs) and the Social Democrats of the PSD controlling 65% of the seats.
The coalition provided a rotation every 18 months at the head of the Government, the Social Democrats holding the Ministries of Finance, Agriculture, Defense and Transport, and the Liberals Justice, Energy, L Interior and foreign affairs.
