Giant Gallery Of Wheels-Up Muscle Cars!

Giant Gallery Of Wheels-Up Muscle Cars! While the term "muscle car" is broadly used today, by definition, a muscle car is a mid-1960s-to-early-1970s intermediate American car—typically a coupe or two-door post sedan—with a V8 installed to produce maximum acceleration and fun. Back in the heyday, muscle car performance was escalated by drag racers who tweaked engines, transmissions, gearing, and suspension. In the process, they created the great American quarter-mile war between racers and manufacturers. The fierce competition morphed into Stock and Super Stock Eliminator, where wins on Sunday translated to sales on Monday.

Even though there was a prediction of rain for 2018's Danchuk Tri Five Nationals the weather held for one of the best events of the year! Yea, last year there was an insane amount of 1955, 1956, and 1957 Chevys in Bowling Green, KY, but this year was even bigger! Between the racers and show cars there were well over 2,700 cars to behold plus the rides on display by the vendors.

Aside from drooling over thousands of Chevys there was a ton do. Exhibition runs down the drag strip of ProMod and Gasser drag cars along with blasts by Jeff Lutz in his 3,000 hp screaming yellow tri-five gave spectators plenty of fast action to check out! There was also a gigantic parts swap meet and vendor displays of some of the hottest parts for your favorite tri-five Chevy.

Tons o’ Trucks at the 2018 NSRA Street Rod Nationals

Tons o’ Trucks at the 2018 NSRA Street Rod Nationals Ten thousand-plus hot rods, customs, muscle cars, and street machines converged on the Kentucky Expo Center for the 49th annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals Aug 2-5 and, of course, there were a ton of trucks as well! Perched between the early Fords and Tri-Five Chevys sat some of the nicest C10s, F-100s, and even a couple Dodges that we've seen in some time. After spending a considerable amount of time in the swap meet, we made hot lap after hot lap around the grounds seeking out the finest haulers we could find.

This year's giveaway car for the Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals was a stunning black 1955 Chevy street machine built by Woody's Hot Rodz. The car featured a beautiful red TMI interior and parts from top companies like CPP, Speedway, Lokar, Golden Star, Danchuk, Ed Rinke Performance, Holley and others. And what's really amazing is that every entrant had a chance to win the car just by being here, which is pretty good odds if you think of it.

Between the drag racing, exhibition runs, swap meet, and car show it was almost too much to see in just two days which is why we put together this gallery of our favorite cars from the event. We also shot some tasty pics of the official Top 25 cars which fought it out for the big award of the day.
