The Ducati SuperSport 950 is getting a whole lot prettier and a bunch more capable for 2021, as Borgo Panigale is giving its softer-edged sportbike a face-lift and adding an electronics package to push it closer in aesthetics and capability to the Panigale line of hypersports.

The most obvious change on the SuperSport is the addition of the Panigale’s sharp, snarling LED daytime running light. Moving backward, the fairings have been slimmed down and sharpened to better mimic the big bike’s lines and further telegraph the Supersports intentions.

2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4S Review: No Greater Freedom Than a 208-HP Personal Rocket

Luckily, though our newest family member came into a colossal shitstorm of a world, he emerged healthy, happy and plague-free. But even after he joined the fray, it's not like things returned to any semblance of last year's normal. Back inside we went. And it's where I stayed until a 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4S showed up at by door late last month, this 208-horsepower, open-air escape pod demanding to be ridden, historic heat wave be damned.

Under the new bodywork is a six-axis IMU that feeds lean, pitch, and yaw angles to a suite of electronic wizardry designed to keep you out of trouble. For 2021, the SuperSport 950 gets Cornering ABS, Wheelie Control, Traction Control, and Electronic Shifting all controlled via the bike’s new 4.3-inch TFT dash.

SuperSport 950 S models get fully adjustable Öhlins suspension bits and a special Arctic White Silk paint scheme. The standard SuperSport 950 comes in Ducati Red and the SuperSport 950 S can also be had in that hue.

The 2021 bike weighs in at just 405 pounds dry according to Ducati, an impressive feat for a bike that isn’t strictly a trackday weapon. All of the standard Ducati fare is present here: from the trellis frame and single-sided swingarm to the radial brake and clutch master cylinders and radial Brembo brakes.
