Week 2 of the college football season featured some very exciting games, but perhaps no game was more intriguing than Alabama’s matchup against Texas.

Alabama was able to win the game thanks to some late-game heroics from star quarterback Bryce Young, but it appears that their struggles in the game have affected their position in the AP Poll heading into Week 3.

After coming into their Week 2 game as the No.1 ranked team, Alabama has dropped to the number two spot, with Georgia leaping them in the new AP Polls released on Sunday.

Georgia notably had an extremely dominant victory over Oregon in their Week 1 matchup, which appears to have made an impression on the AP voting committee along with Alabama’s struggles.

Many have taken notice of this significant change, and agree that Georgia appears to be the best team in the country at this point in the college football season.

Another huge change was Texas A&M falling all the way down to No.24 after their shocking upset loss to Appalachian State on Saturday.

Georgia and Alabama will likely be battling for the top spot in the rankings for weeks to come throughout the college football season, and this is probably one of many changes that will come at the top of the rankings throughout the season.

Considering Alabama nearly lost their matchup to Texas despite coming into the game as 21-point favorites, it seems very justified that Georgia has overtaken them as the No.1 ranked team.
