Kim Kardashian is no stranger to luxury brands. In fact, the aspiring lawyer is known for being quite loyal to brands for extended periods. Wearing only designs from one fashion house at a time and bringing notoriety to the brand that it may not have gotten otherwise without the exposure to the millions of fans Kardashian has on her socials. The most recent brand that the billionaire has thrown her support behind is Balenciaga.

Over time, the fashion house has undergone several different creative directors. The most current of which, Demna Gvasalia, who is known for his shocking and sometimes controversial runway designs. But at the core of his designs are the silhouettes that Balenciaga created so many decades before. As such, it is no surprise that Kardashian has become the latest muse for the fashion house. Given her choice of daring apparel, the two seem like a perfect pairing. Of course, for Kim, it's apparently a paid gig; here's how much she's earned from the brand.

Kim Kardashian's Role With Balenciaga Is Extensive

While Kardashian has become the face of Balenciaga, her official title is that of brand ambassador. A title that successful social media influencers have to one extent or another.

But, in the case of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, her ambassadorships are with large companies that prove to be very lucrative. And with Balenciaga, that means being a print and runway model as well.

It is no surprise that Kardashian became an ambassador for the brand given her affinity for Balenciaga over the past several years.

Calling it her "Balenciaga era," Kardashian was an obvious choice for the fashion house to approach to bring publicity to the brand. A role that may not have happened for the Skims founder, had her ex-husband, Kanye West, not already had a relationship with Balenciaga personally and professionally, agreeing to a now-defunct collaboration with the brand.

However, once Kardashian signed her contract to be a brand ambassador earlier this year, her affinity for Balenciaga turned into an obsession.

How Kim Kardashian Revitalized Balenciaga

The beginning of a shift in Balenciaga to make it something that Millennials craved to own a part of was when Gvasalia was brought on as the creative director.

While Balenciaga had been revitalized as a brand in the late 1990s by Josephus Thimister, bringing the fashion house back to its luxury couture status it enjoyed for so many years and in 2012 Alexander Wang made the brand "youthful, edgy and wearable yet still eminently stylish," it was not until Gvasalia that the younger generations paid attention.

And those younger generations have made the fashion house the most successful among luxury fashion brands.

Part of this revitalization can also be directly attributed to Kardashian.

This is because, with the 334 million followers that the former Kimoji's owner has on Instagram alone, she has been able to influence a large population that may have never been introduced to the new look of Balenciaga. And as a result of this relationship between Kardashian and Balenciaga, both win. The KKW founder remains relevant as a "fashion icon" and the fashion house jumped from fifth to first according to the Lyst Index Q3 report.

Neither Kardashian nor Balenciaga was naive about what one could do for the other. And because of this, both the fashion house and the entrepreneur have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship.

Kim Kardashian's Estimated Payday For Her Association With Balenciaga

To be such a prominent fixture for the Balenciaga brand means that there likely is a large payday. What that amounts to exactly has not been disclosed by the fashion house nor Kardashian. But, based off the mother of four's net worth, what the brand is paying for Kardashian's exposure can be estimated.

The most recent estimates put Kardashian's net worth at about $1.8 billion. While the majority of that net worth comes from the money made from being 35 percent owner of Skims, selling off 20 percent of KKW Beauty to Coty, the contract with Hulu for The Kardashians, there is also the money Kardashian gets paid for her Instagram posts that can be worth a hefty payday.

Last year, Kardashian was estimated to be worth $1 billion. That means within one year, she increased her net worth by $800 million.

Some of that is being contributed to the "sale to Coty for $200 million." Skims sales make up to $275 million to $450 million, with the brand itself being worth $3.2 billion. The Kardashians brings in just under $17 million. And not to be forgotten, Instagram influencing can bring in $1 million per post.

Not knowing how many Instagram posts Kardashian was paid for this past year, the other businesses netted her a cool somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 to $500 million.

That leaves quite a bit of money left over from the $800 million made between 2021 and 2022. Some of which is likely from investments and positions in smaller companies. But a portion of which is likely paid by Balenciaga for the exposure.

Just for the announcement of the Kardashian and Balenciaga partnership, it netted $1 million in media impact value. The entire campaign in April "netted $2.43 million." The black face shield that Kardashian wore in July netted nearly $935,000.

While the details of the contract between Balenciaga and Kardashian may never be revealed, it's estimated to be in the multi-millions.
