Two people were injured in a shooting on New Year’s Eve at the Mall of America, prompting a short evacuation of the entire Minneapolis complex, police said.

Cops said an altercation between two men led to at least one gunshot, which hit one man in the leg and grazed a bystander, local ABC affiliate KSTP reported.

The man who was shot in the leg was treated at a local hospital, according to KTSP. His injuries were not life-threatening, cops said.

The grazed man was treated at the mall and went about his day.

Police were still searching for the suspect as of New Year’s Day. No arrests had been made, and a description of the shooter was not released to the public.

Shoppers at the crowded megamall were sent scrambling amid the gunfire, with many seeking shelter in locked stores and behind bathroom doors.

The gunfire happened around 5 p.m., the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. The mall was scheduled to close at 6 p.m., so it never reopened Friday. However, public transit to the mall restarted around 5:45 p.m.
