Entertainment: Kelsey Grammer Says He Will Boycott Disney If They Won't Let Him Reprise His Role

The Loss of Magic in Disney’s Live-Action Remakes

The Loss of Magic in Disney’s Live-Action Remakes The constant stream of live-action remakes of Disney's animated classics is diluting the Disney brand and stops any forward momentum the studio has.The first entry in this modern trend is Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, which grossed over a billion dollars worldwide following its release in 2010. After the success of that film, Disney eased into remaking more of its films by taking a slight break and then releasing Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book and an Alice in Wonderland sequel in the span of 2014 through 2016.

If you’re a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you can attribute the success of your favorite franchise in large part to the trailblazing success of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, Wesley Snipes’ turn as Blade, and the original cadre of X-Men in the early 2000s. While Blade has been recast for the MCU with ‎Mahershala Ali to show up sometime in the next phase of the series, and the X-Men have seen many of their characters recast throughout the prequel collection of films, others are making their appearance in the MCU here and there, as we move forward to the introduction of the team. With Patrick Stewart showing up as Charles Xavier in Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and Hugh Jackman coming out of retirement as Wolverine for Deadpool 3, Kelsey Grammer is ready to boycott Disney if he doesn’t get his shot to return as well as the X-Man Beast.

In an interview with Movie Web, the Frasier actor answered the question about the possibility of reprising his role as Hank McCoy, AKA Beast, by stating that he would never go to Disneyland again if they didn’t ask him to appear. Knowing Kelsey Grammer, he is likely saying these words with a smile on his face and he is not completely serious about boycotting the Disney California theme park. Still, it does display how passionate he is about the project.

He followed the statement by saying he wanted to do that twice, reiterating that if Disney wanted a cameo from him, he was set and ready to go.

Kelsey Grammer appeared in the X-Men franchise long before Disney was even in the picture, when his Hank McCoy showed up in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand as a mutant representative in Congress, working towards a live-and-let-live accord between mutants and humans and even navigating the possibility of a cure. He appeared in a cameo in X-Men: Days of Future Past eight years later in 2014, and that was the end of his tenure. The part of Hank McCoy, was recast with a younger actor in Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, Jack the Giant Slayer), who portrayed him for the remainder of the prequel series.

15 Spooky Cartoons For Halloween On Disney+ From full-length animated features to creepy cartoons and spooky short films, Disney has all the trimmings and trappings for one's Halloween binging. From full-length animated features to creepy cartoons and spooky short films, Disney has all the trimmings and trappings for one's Halloween binging. Ranging from mild thrills to nightmare fuel, there's a little something for everyone on the streaming service. Even Mickey Mouse himself gets in on the act.

Since his last appearance as Beast, Kelsey Grammer has been everywhere but Disneyland, as he has appeared in multiple projects every year, including seven in 2014, four in 2015, and so on. He has jumped aboard some of the biggest franchises in Hollywood by joining the cast of Transformers: Age of Extinction with Mark Wahlberg, The Expendables 3 with Sylvester Stallone, and multiple stints on the legendary animated series, The Simpsons.

We don’t have any solid word from the bigwigs over at Marvel when the X-Men will finally make their long-awaited appearance in the MCU. Still, with the franchise’s new lean towards fan service, it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that James Marsden, Famke Jenson, Halle Berry, and others will slide in now and again. They certainly have no reason not to allow Kelsey Grammer to appear, for Disney’s sake, in any case.
