An inadvertent whistle sparked a wild ending as Mississippi State football took down Ole Miss on Thursday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.Mississippi State's Jett Johnson recovered a fumble with more than seven minutes remaining in the annual rivalry game against Ole Miss (8-4, 4-4 SEC), a crucial turnover that came with controversy and led to fans pelting the field with debris near the student section at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Lane Kiffin isn't going anywhere.
According to a report from On3, the Ole Miss Rebels head football coach is planning on sticking with the program.
Kiffin has been linked to the Auburn Tigers job. However, he reportedly plans on staying at Ole Miss.

Kiffin told Ole Miss players Wednesday evening that, unless something significantly changes, he’s planning on staying as the head coach of the Rebels, sources tell On3 and OM Spirit.

Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin was once again asked to talk about his future and speculation linking him to the Auburn job.The questions came amid reports that he's the No. 1 candidate to fill the coaching vacancy at Auburn — a line some reporters have been repeating since Auburn moved on from Bryan Harsin on October 31.
It comes in the midst of Kiffin being widely viewed as the favorite to be the next head coach for Auburn, which is in search of a replacement for Bryan Harsin, who was fired on Halloween during his second season as the Tigers’ coach.
Rejoice, Ole Miss fans.

Kiffin and Ole Miss are scheduled to take on Mississippi State on Thursday night.
