Adam Silver admits NBA season could be halted due to COVID-19
The season is expected to resume on July 30. A total of 22 of the NBA’s 30 teams will take part. Each team will play eight regular-season games before the playoffs start. As of right now, multiple players have exercised their ability to opt out of the season. It’s not necessarily a major trend, but it is something to keep an eye on with the season slated to resume in exactly a month.Subscribe to Yardbarker's Morning Bark, the most comprehensive newsletter in sports. A featherweight fight is in the works for the UFC’s September pay-per-view.
The promotion is currently targeting a fight pinning Canada’s Hakeem Dawodu and Russia’s Zubaira Tukhugov against each other at UFC 253. A location and date is still to be determined.
Two people with knowledge of the situation recently informed MMA Junkie of the targeted booking but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an announcement.
Dawodu (11-1-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) is riding a four-fight winning streak entering his UFC 253 matchup. Since losing his promotional debut to Danny Henry in March 2018, Dawodu has defeated Austin Arnett, Kyle Bochniak, Yoshinori Horie, and Julio Arce in succession.
Chicago Cubs coach Tommy Hottovy provides chilling details of battling COVID-19
Hottovy said that it’s important to get baseball back. But he’s looking at it through a bigger lens, too. “I want to do everything we can to bring baseball back to the fans,” Hottovy said. “We have to take care of ourselves and each other and hold each other accountable or it could easily get derailed.”In his role with the Cubs since 2019, Hottovy said that his pitchers knew about him contracting COVID-19 early in the process. They noticed him being short of breath and other symptoms during Zoom calls.
Tukhugov (19-4-1 MMA, 4-1-1 UFC), a main training partner and friend of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, will look to turn a win into a winning streak. He is 1-1-1 in his most recent three outings. In February, Tukhugov punched his ticket back into the win column when he knocked out Kevin Aguilar in 3:21. MORE:
