AP-NORC poll: Virus fears linger for vaccinated older adults

AP-NORC poll: Virus fears linger for vaccinated older adults NEW YORK (AP) — Bronwyn Russell wears a mask anytime she leaves her Illinois home, though she wouldn’t dream of going out to eat or to hear a band play, much less setting foot on a plane. In Virginia, Oliver Midgette rarely dons a mask, never lets COVID-19 rouse any worry and happily finds himself in restaurants and among crowds. She is vaccinated. He is not. In a sign of the starkly different way Americans view the coronavirus pandemic, vaccinated older adults are far more worried about the virus than the unvaccinated and far likelier to take precautions despite the protection afforded by their shots, according to a new poll out Wednesday from The Associated Press-NORC Center for

Normal people wouldn't be able to have their finger popped back in place and then continue to play in an NFL game, but that's exactly what Wilson did.

"Wilson is expected to be out for roughly six weeks due to the complicated nature of the operation, which required screws to stabilize Wilson's finger," Rapoport added.

Assuming the timeline is accurate, Wilson will probably miss at least five games total: Matchups against the Pittsburgh Steelers (Oct. 17), New Orleans Saints (Oct. 25), Jacksonville Jaguars (Oct. 31), Green Bay Packers (Nov. 14), and Arizona Cardinals (Nov. 21). Seattle's bye is in Week 9.

Journeyman backup Geno Smith replaced Wilson on Thursday night and becomes the team's temporary QB1 barring a trade or free-agency acquisition. Smith completed 10-of-17 passes for 131 yards with a touchdown and a game-sealing fourth-quarter interception against the Rams and is on pace to make his first start since the 2017 campaign next Sunday in Pittsburgh.
