Why did the Raiders fire Mike Mayock?
The Raiders hired Mayock in December 2018 season to work with Gruden and help rebuild the Raiders. The team went 4-12 in 2018, Gruden's first season back as Raiders coach. Oakland/Las Vegas went 7-9, 8-8 and 10-7 in Mayock's three seasons. The team never won a playoff game during that time.
When Gruden resigned after racist, homophobic and sexist emails sent by him years ago were released, Mayock's firing seemed inevitable.

Notably, Las Vegas' 2020 first-round draft pick, wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, was arrested on felony DUI and reckless driving charges after a fatal vehicle crash in Las Vegas last November. The team released Ruggs following his arrest.
