The Cats led after the first half, which featured both teams putting on an atrocious shooting performance. After that, Auburn started to find their footing and Kentucky continued to look completely lost on the offensive side of the court. There was no flow, no rhythm, and to put it quite frankly, BJ Boston struggled a lot this game.

The Kentucky Wildcats faced their toughest challenge of the season on Saturday as they had a road matchup against the Auburn Tigers who are currently the No. 2 team in the country.
It was an outstanding start for the Cats as they stormed out to the early 19-9 lead over the Tigers.
Auburn is the No. 2 team in the country for a reason, and they weren’t going to go away as they made a run of their own to make this a 19-16 game with 11 minutes to go in the half.
Each team exchanged runs down the stretch of the half, but it was the Cats that went into the break with a 33-29 lead.
The second half was going to be a tough challenge after TyTy Washington was ruled out with a left ankle injury suffered in the first half.

— Aaron Gershon (@agershon99) January 22, 2022Kentucky took another comfortable step forward in its quest for perfection, as the Wildcats improved to 33-0 and advanced to the SEC tournament final with a 91-67 win over the Auburn Tigers. Unlike the tight test a day prior against Florida that resembled so many of their close wins during the season, the Wildcats exerted their dominance from the opening tip. Kentucky 's defensive formidability was once again on display as it held Auburn to 33 percent shooting, but a balanced offensive explosion made it no contest from the opening minutes.

Kentucky football: Wildcats land Alabama wideout in transfer portal
The Kentucky Wildcats landed a big name in the transfer portal: Former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Javon Baker. While on opposite sides of the SEC, Kentucky football poached a former 4-star recruit and National Champion in Baker. Baker didn't see a lot of action in his two seasons with the Crimson Tide, likely prompting the change of scenery. It's tough to blame him for the lack of production given the litany of receivers Nick Saban's team often has at their disposal. Baker announced his decision on Instagram.
