A look at Darcy Kuemper's impending free agency

A look at Darcy Kuemper's impending free agency The Avalanche will have some decisions to make this offseason, including about their star goaltender. To solve the issue, Avalanche GM Joe Sakic made a deal with the Arizona Coyotes, a soon-to-be division rival, to acquire goaltender Darcy Kuemper for Conor Timmins and two draft picks, including a 2022 first-round pick. The trade allowed Colorado to acquire an accomplished goaltender to get out of their difficult situation, but the long-term implications of the trade were cloudy. Kuemper was acquired as a player with only one year left until free agency, meaning there was no guarantee that this trade would be anything but a one-year marriage.

Celtic and Rangers will meet for the fourth time this season with the two historic Glasgow rivals this time facing off in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Ange Postecoglou's team took a giant step towards the Scottish Premiership title with victory over Rangers earlier this month and there is a sense that the Hoops have the edge over the defending Scottish champions right now.

For Celtic, there is a potential Treble on the line. The Hoops have already won this season's Scottish League Cup in December, and they hold a commanding six-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership. A victory over Rangers on Sunday would set them up for a clean sweep of the domestic honours.

Hayes scores shootout winner as Flyers edge Rangers 4-3

Hayes scores shootout winner as Flyers edge Rangers 4-3 NEW YORK (AP) — Kevin Hayes scored the only goal of the shootout and Martin Jones made 43 saves to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 win over the New York Rangers on Sunday night. Hayes lifted the puck past Igor Shesterkin as the Flyers got just their ninth road win in 34 games this season. Cam York and Owen Tippett scored early in the first period and Joel Farabee tallied 44 seconds into the third to give the Flyers a 3-0 lead before the Rangers rallied for three goals to send the game to overtime.Artemi Panarin had a goal and an assist, and Mika Zibanejad and Andrew Copp also scored for the Rangers, who lost their second straight at home. Shesterkin finished with 23 saves.

Under Postecoglou, Celtic have played a brand of dynamic, modern football that has caught the eye and earned them many admirers. At times, though, Celtic have been guilty of wasting chances in front of goal this season.

Rangers are fresh from making the semi-finals of the Europa League during the week. Continental competition has brought the best out of Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team this season — can they carry that into Sunday's Old Firm derby at Hampden Stadium?

Rangers, the defending Scottish champions, have lost the last two Old Firm derbies and have struggled to cope with Celtic's high-pressing style since the arrival of Postecoglou in Glasgow. Can Rangers end this run on the neutral ground of the national stadium?

NHL Tuesday bets: Six shot on goal props We split our picks Monday and will look to get back in the green on what is a loaded night of hockey. With so many games, we'll be upping the volume a bit. I have six players I like to hit their Shots on Goal (SOG) props Tuesday night, so let's get to the spots.Valeri Nichushkin over 2.5 SOG (-125 DK)We start with Valeri Nichushkin, who has been steady with his shots for Colorado. In a big game, the Avs will visit the Penguins, and Pittsburgh is allowing 32.2 shots per game in their last 10 at home.Pittsburgh is a very viable target, with their shots allowed numbers increasing when looking at just their last five splits.

Celtic vs. Rangers live updates

4th min: Rangers have the first chance of the game. They win the ball back and counter. Ramsey plays in Kent to his left, and McGregor manages to slide in and put Kent off his shot. The stadium was full of smoke from the pyrotechnics at kickoff, but the air is beginning to clear now. The game has started at a frenetic pace.

1 min before kickoff: The teams are out at Hampden Park. Red flares light up the Rangers end, and the noise level has grown even more. Ange Postecoglou and Giovanni van Bronckhorst share a warm embrace on the touchline, but I wouldn't expect too much of that kind of thing over the next couple of hours.

3 mins before kickoff: As you would imagine, there's not an empty seat in the house at Hampden Park. With just a few minutes to go, the flags are waving and both sets of fans are in full voice.

15 mins before kickoff: Only fifteen minutes till kickoff now. It's a relatively early start, but that won't dampen the atmosphere in Glasgow one bit. This matchup is always high stakes and, with a place in a cup final on the line, no quarter will be shown today.

35 mins before kickoff: Just one change for Rangers after their midweek efforts, and that comes in goal where John McLaughlin starts. It'll be interesting to see how Van Brocnkhorst's side cope later on in the game, having played in midweek.

Celtic vs. Rangers lineups

Celtic have had a full week of rest since their last fixture last weekend and have a full squad to choose from for this match. Kyogo Furuhashi is back to full fitness, but Daizen Maeda's run in the team continues. He's led the press well in recent weeks.

Celtic starting lineup (4-3-3): Hart (GK) — Taylor, Starfelt, Carter-Vickers, Juranovic — McGregor, Hatate, Rogic — Jota, Maeda, Abada

Assessing the impending free agency of Rangers center Ryan Strome

Assessing the impending free agency of Rangers center Ryan Strome Given the general cap situation of the Rangers, whether the team will be able to keep Strome beyond this season is unknown. © Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports Strome's free agency could be one of the most interesting offseason storylines in the NHL. As previously mentioned, this season has been a momentous one for the Rangers. After the famous “letter” sent out by the former regime led by Jeff Gorton and John Davidson, communicating to the fans that a rebuild was in store, the Rangers spent several years building a prospect pool and adding younger talent that could help them compete long-term.

Rangers come into this match on the back of an extra-time victory over Braga in the quarter-finals of the Europa League on Thursday night. The physical toll of that match could be a factor on Sunday.

Aaron Ramsey, who scored in the last Old Firm derby and played a good game against Braga, starts. McLaughlin starts in goal for Rangers.

Rangers starting lineup (4-3-3): McLaughlin (GK) —Barisic, Bassey, Goldson, Tavernier — Lundstram, Jack, Aribo — Kent, Ramsey, Roofe.
