One Year Out, Women’s World Cup’s Top Story Lines Come Into Focus

The biggest Women’s World Cup ever begins at this time next year in New Zealand and Australia. Here’s what’s on the radar before the action kicks off down under. Wednesday marks exactly one year out from the start of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. It’s the first time the event will be hosted by two countries, with Australia’s matches spread across five cities and six stadiums and New Zealand’s across four cities and stadiums.

On July 29, 2022, the games for the DFB Cup start with the 1st main round. On Wednesday, June 15th, the German Football Association announced the contemporary schedules. FC Kaan-Marienborn 07 meets second division 1. FC Nürnberg and third division team SG Dynamo Dresden on Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. On Friday evening (from 8:45 p.m.) the ZDF will then broadcast the game between third division 1860 Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

The ARD broadcasts the encounters of Europa-League winner Eintracht Frankfurt and Master Bayern Munich live in the first round. While the Hesse is challenged on Monday, August 1st at second division promoted 1. FC Magdeburg, Bayern only intervene a good four weeks later on August 31 (8:45 p.m.) with the game at third division FC Viktoria Cologne. At the actual cup weekend, Bayern meet Cup winner RB Leipzig in the DFL supercup. The Leipziger Cup game at Teutonia 05 is broadcast by ZDF. The game will take place on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
