Sport: Cologne band Höhner plays in Wacken-and fans sing with

The Cologne dialect band Höhner performed for the first time on Saturday at the heavy metal festival in Wacken. The Metalheads acknowledged the concert in the morning with a lot of applause and also sang the songs. Among other things, the band played a cover version of Metallica's “Nothing Else Matters” with its own text.

singer Patrick Lück had told the German press agency before the concert that music was a very own language that everyone understands. "Above all, we are not worried that the audience could not do anything with our music."

Two causes: Number of unemployed in Cologne easily increases

The number of unemployed people in Cologne rose to 52,628 (plus 3.3 percent) in July 2022, as the Cologne Employment Agency reports. That is 1702 additional unemployed compared to the previous month. There are two causes for this: "In addition to the outgoing contracts among the summer holidays, the Ukraine refugees now registered in the job center will include in the statistics," says Johannes Klapper, head of the Cologne employment agency.

The band brings in Rhineland with schunklers such as “Viva Colonia” and “The caravan continues” regularly to cook. The natural habitat of the Höhner are carnival stages with colorful confetti rain. In Wacken, however, the dominant color is usually black. However, musicians outside the heavy metal scene have repeatedly performed at the festival in recent years, such as Heino.
