Guard-USA TODAY Sports Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas. One of the names expected to be on the move ahead of Tuesday's 6 p.m. deadline is Oakland Athletics' ace starting pitcher Frankie Montas.According to MLB Network's Jon Morosi, the market for Montas is beginning to take shape. While there should be plenty of interest from around the league in the 29-year-old starter, the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, and St. Louis Cardinals have emerged as the favorites to land Montas, per Morosi.

According to Caesars Sportsbook, the Yankees are small underdogs at -105 (risk $105 to win $100) while Seattle is favored at -115. Surprisingly the Yankees are favored on the run line, -1.5 at +143 odds (risk $100 to win $143). The over-under, or number of combined runs the oddsmakers are projecting, is eight in the latest Yankees vs. Mariners odds. Why you should back the Yankees

Despite a rough outing against Seattle last week in New York, Taillon has been a successful starter for the Yankees in 2022. He's 10-2 with a 3.96 ERA and current Mariners hitters are a collective 15 for 83 against him lifetime (.181 average). Last July, Taillon held Seattle to one earned run in seven innings with nine strikeouts in a 12-1 New York victory.

Judge hits 43rd HR, Yanks beat Ms 7-2 for winning home mark

Judge hits 43rd HR, Yanks beat Ms 7-2 for winning home mark NEW YORK (AP) — Aaron Judge hit his major league-leading 43rd home run, Jose Trevino had his first multihomer game and the New York Yankees beat the Seattle Mariners 7-2 Monday night in a series opener between teams bulking up for the postseason. Anthony Rizzo started the onslaught with a three-run homer in the first, and New York clinched its 31st consecutive winning record at home (41-13), second only to its big league standard of 47 in row from 1918-64. The Yankees are 70-34, the first team to reach 70 wins this year.

The Yankees boast the most prolific lineup in baseball, leading the league in runs, home runs, and RBIs. Though Giancarlo Stanton (IL) and Anthony Rizzo (day-to-day) are banged up, New York's lineup features very few weak spots. Aaron Judge, in a contract year, is the odds-on favorite for AL MVP with 43 home runs and 97 RBIs. He's on pace to join former Yankees Babe Ruth and Roger Maris in the 60+ single season home run club.

Why you should back the Mariners

Gilbert has been a standout for Seattle this season. He's 10-4 with a 3.09 ERA and averages nearly a strikeout per inning (120 in 128.1 innings). The 6'6" righty gave up six runs in 5.1 innings in his most recent start at Yankee Stadium last week but was brilliant against New York last July, when he held them to one hit in seven scoreless innings.

The Mariners also welcomed back this weekend, Mitch Haniger, who had only played in nine April games before being shelved with COVID and a high ankle sprain. The 2018 All-Star reached base four times in his eight weekend at bats, including two hits and two walks. He provides middle-of-the order support for a team in need of it without likely AL Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez, who is set to return from a short IL stint later this week.
